FY2010 Assessed Values

The property information contained herein contains the FY 2010 assessed values.  These are shown under the heading: “CURRENT YEAR.”   The FY 2009 committed assessments are shown under the heading: “PREVIOUS YEAR.”

It is important to note that the FY 2010 assessed values reflect the changing status of the calendar year 2008 real estate market. Sales that took place in 2009 will form the basis for the FY 2011 assessments.

The Assessing Department is open on Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.; on Tuesday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; and on Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  For further information, please contact the Assessing Department, 781-934-1100, ext. 115.

Our property information database contains a comprehensive array of descriptive property information including building footprint sketches and photographs.  It also offers you the opportunity to print out property record cards that summarize this information for each property.

The zoning information included in this database should be corroborated.  Please consult the Planning Department web site for a zoning map and the zoning bylaws.

When you click on the Search the Property Information Center Database link above you will arrive at the Public Access Search Page.  Here you can access data about a particular property by typing in the property location street address or the Parcel ID.  It is not possible to search online by Owner Name.  However, this information can be obtained at the Assessing Department at Town Hall.

In trying to access a particular property by its location, it is better to be brief in making your query.  For example, it is often better to just key in the street name, such as "Depot" or "Chandler" and not the word "St".  Once you enter the street name, a list of properties will appear; and you can select the address of the property you want.  If you are unsure of the spelling of a street, use the only first three or four letters.

If you choose to enter the full street address, you must use the following abbreviations: AVE=Avenue; BLVD= Blvd; CIR=Circle; DR=Drive; LN=Lane; RD=Road; ST=Street and TRL=Trail.  These abbreviations are not case sensitive; but you must not use any periods.

The Parcel ID consists of a map, block and lot. If the property is a condominium, the final character in the Parcel ID is usually an alpha character such as “A,” “B” etc.  To access a parcel by Parcel ID the Parcel ID information has to be entered in the precisely correct manner.  To illustrate, the following is the Parcel ID for the Duxbury Town Offices: 082/140.0-0500-0016.0.  The following three shaded sets of four characters are what must be entered to access this parcel: 082/140.0-0500-0016.0 (Do not enter any dashes or periods).

By clicking on the Property Record Card icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen you may view the property record card for the property that you have accessed.  To move back to the search page, you must click on the "Back" button in the upper left hand corner.  To print out a property record card, you need to have Adobe® Acrobat® Reader®, which you can download for free from the Adobe® site (see below). If Adobe® Acrobat® Reader® is already installed, select the Adobe® PDF icon in the upper right-hand section of the screen. This will bring up the Property Record Card with a sketch and picture if they are available. This card can be printed using the print icon on the Adobe toolbar inside the browser. Property record cards are viewable only with Adobe® Acrobat® Reader® software. Use the link below to download free software from the Adobe® website.
