Duxbury requires a Title 5 inspection for any addition greater then 50 s.f. even if it does not increase flow to the system. A list of inspection requirements for building permit applications is located on this page.

Cesspools are automatic failures and all seepage pits must be located, opened and inspected. Pits are evaluated under the same Title 5 criteria as cesspools. Refer to the inspectors memo below for more information.

The Health Agent may require a soil evaluation by a DEP certified soil evaluator for any Title 5 inspection. If you are not familiar with the town call the Health Agent for information on groundwater and soils. Well Testing Requirements	Section 2.08.8 of the Duxbury Private Well Regulations requires that a water quality test of a potable well (drinking water well) shall be required any time the property changes ownership. The testing must be performed regardless of the distance of the well from the soil absorption system. Here is a link to the list of parameters that shall be tested for.
