Standish Street Fire
5/21/05 Duxbury Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire on all floors of a 30' X 60' barn, an atttached 14' X 24' workshop and an attached guesthouse. Firefighters made a very aggressive fire attack and saved two exposure buildings that were threatened. Firefighters from the towns of Kingston, Marshfield and Pembroke were also called upon for assistance in battling this blaze. One Duxbury firefighter was injured battling this blaze.
Duxbury Firefighter Jeff Chandler operates a 1 3/4" line as Duxbury Firefighter Rob Reardon sets up a 2 1/2" line in the rear of the building.
As steam comes off the garage on the right and despite extreme heat firefighters stopped the fire from spreading. One firefighter was transported to the hospital with third degree burns suffered while preventing the spread of this fire into the 1 1/2 story garage.
