This trailer is a fire safety education tool that is used at our Elementary Schools during National Fire Prevention Week, at our Annual Open House, and at other special events such at the Annual Kids Day that is sponsored by the Ellison Center.
There are many props in the trailer to help children actually understand fire safety practices. We can fill the rooms with non-toxic "smoke" so children will understand what that might be like, there is an actual bedroom with a bed so kids canpractice staying low while getting out of bed and escaping down an actual escape ladder. There is a door that can be heated so kids will understand feeling a door before opening it. There is a stove to explain stove safety. There are many other things that allow our trained Firefightrers to help our children enjoy learning fire safety.
