Forest Fire 47
We have two of these brush breakers. They are 1988 custom Maxim brushbreakers built on International model 1854 four wheel drive chassis with a 28,000 pound GVW. They have 210 horse-power International DT-466C turbo-charged diesel engines with Spicer 5 speed manual transmissions and air brakes. These trucks were designed around other brushbreakers in the area but have many other features that we believe make them more versatile. They carry 750 gallons of water, have gasoline powered portable pumps rated at 350 GPM, have Foam-Pro 1601 Class A foam Systems, and carry 1 3/4” hose for structural firefighting and 1” forestry hose for natural cover fires. This truck was refurbished in 2008.
Original cost of these trucks was $90,000.00 each
Replacement cost is about $250,000.00 each.
