Dog Licenses are required for all dogs 6 months and older. A Rabies Certificate and proof of spaying or neutering must be presented when applying for license. All dog licenses expire March 31st of each year. Renewal of licenses for the following year can be done beginning in mid February. The yearly Town census contains instructions for dog licensing by mail.
License Fees: $7.00 per year for spayed/neutered dogs $12.00 per year for dogs not spayed/neutered
An additional fee is charged for renewals of licenses obtained after June 1st. Duxbury has a leash law that requires any dog not on a leash to be under voice control at all times. This law is enforced by the Animal Control Officer.
